Stair gates & baby gates?
I am in the middle of moving house this week, going from a ranch style to a two-story home and I am on the hunt for baby gates. I am having trouble finding baby gates wide enough and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or recommendations on gates that they like and what gates I should try to avoid.
I need one stair gate for the top of the stairs that needs to fit 41" wide, I want one the opens easily with a door or something. I also need an extra wide gate dividing the family room from the kitchen, which is 101.5" wide and the third gate needs to fit a 53" space.
This move is proving to be quit costly so I don’t have $200 to throw down on a super gate with a superdooper extension (especially seeing as I need three of them), I am trying to stay within a reasonable budget. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
leapsandbounds.com and onestepahead.com have an array of gates in several different finishes and sizes. they also have lots of other fantastic items that you just can’t find elsewhere. i ordered from them alot when my kids were little.

For price i would try Wal Mart but Toys R Us has a bigger variety. The ones with the doors are nice for stairs & such but on level ground just get the regular ones & step over. It sometimes gets annoying but it will cut down your price quite a bit!
As for me… I blocked off the stairs & kitchen & she gets the whole livingroom, diningroom, & foyer to run & play in. I still had to use 3 gates but only the normal average sized ones for the kitchen doors compared to the wide ones to block from living to dinning rooms.
