After the tragic death of Samara Ali, what safety hints can you give other parents?
sadly little Samara died after falling out of a bedroom window, as a bed had been placed next to the window!
I never put beds near windows because this may happen! What tips can you give parents that may have jsut not thought of "What could happen if! "
I also tape up all my roller blind cables as they are can be used to hang a child, if they get caught up in them!
Keep saucepan and frying pan handles turned away from little hands! Always check the keetle is out of reach! Any hot drinks up high!
Stair gates closed! Any tips welcome! Thanks

Get the plastic plug inserts to block little fingers in electrical outlets, keep cleaners and medicines out of reach or on high shelves, make sure your tv doesn’t wobble or can’t be knocked over I had a friend’s 2 yr old die cause the tv fell on her head, keep the washer lid down so they can’t push buttons and fall in, pay attention when your mowing your lawn especially a riding lawn mower, don’t leave a child in the car unattended for one min, always look when you back out the drive way to make sure your kids aint in the way, and you know guns or weopens of any kind knives or collectables should be kept somewhere that the child has no clue where to find them.

Household cleaners like Bleach out of reach in highest cupboard, it’s amazing how many people with children put them in low cupboards like under a sink. All medicines in cupboard that be can locked, because inquisitive little souls can sometimes get chairs, something to stand on to look into toiletry cabinets.

*Corners of brick walls and columns can cause serious head/facial injuries
*Sticks, pegs, small rocks, paintbrushes and other day to day objects can cause serious eye injuries even loss of sight if left on ground and then fallen on
*Hi-light changes in levels ie: concrete paths and doorways to prevent falls I have a hanging string of mini stuffed birds hanging in doorways it provides noise and visual warning that there’s a change in levels without being intrusive
*Clothes lines can be fatal, invest in a fold down one, kids can climb and fall and if tangle in washing can hang themselves
*Install security grills on all bedrooms and upstairs rooms {have one that hinges open and secured so in case of fire one can get out}
My daughter is a walking billboard for safety issues if an accident is around she’ll find it!

make sure your smoke alarm works and know at least two routes out of the house.
you can buy a multipack of safety items in places like mothercare. they contain fridge lock, toilet lock, cupboard lock, video lock, plug covers, corners to go on table edges.
make sure kettle and iron leads are out of reach so they don’t get pulled onto little people.
make sure bookcases and furniture are secure and teach them not to climb on them
check bath water temperature and use non slip mat.
keep washing machine door shut
