Covers for the unused outlets. Doorknob covers before she starts to walk.

Smoke Detetors (front and back of house area). Fire Extinguisher for the kitchen and Carbonmoxide detector some where about 2 feet off the floor area around the furnanace because its very deadly and has no order and creeps along the floor are to your bed room/ Hope this helps and course a good flash light for when power goes out. Good Luck!!

baby proofing is not as huge as people make it seem make sure you cover all outlets and keep toxic items away from areas you know shell be getting into
all you really need to do is watch to see what she is getting into and then you will know what needs to be moved, covered or hidden but this is the most benificial time to teach your child right from wrong and you would be surprised how much she will react to you

You should definitelt get socket covers and cupbaord locks are helpful. Also you can get foam or plastic corner guards for sharp corners on tables etc. If you’ve got a fireplace you need one of those cage style fireguards that attaches to the wall. We got a guard to go in front of the video/dvd player but that was pretty useless so I wouldn’t recommend it. Good luck!

the gate is really good. you can look for the outlet plugs, they are clear and go into the outlet preventing your child from sticking anything inside. also theres plastic clip things that go into cabinets and drawers making it so baby cant pull it open..im sorry i forget the exact name right now. but all those things are good to have in the house just so they cant hurt themselves getting into all that. id suggest also getting as many electrical cords and wires away as possible cuz babies like to put those around their necks for some reason. also try to declutter meaning put away anything reachable that doesnt need to be out. anything baby can put in their mouth is unsafe and should be put away too. the best thing is supervision, never leave the room and always have an eye on what your baby is doing and everything will be fine.

lets see, cupboard locks, outlet covers, plugs to put on the table edges, locks for the doors to rooms you don’t want your baby going into. The list goes on from there thats all I know.
However I disagree with this stuff unless the baby is stuborn. Nothing beats good old fashion parental supervision. I have not set up any of that stuff because I believe unless the child is stubborn and still getting into that knife drawer or food cabnet the stuff isn’t needed. Trust me the first time you tell your kid no when she goes for the outlet and after redirecting her she still wants to go near it and she gets shocked, it won’t even leave a mark but she’ll learn not to touch it ever again. Also you can clear the room of everthing and your daughter will still find a way to hit her head.

There are a million products out there that you can go really overboard with if you try to baby proof too much. Some babies are really interested in electrical sockets and others aren’t at all interested. So, I’d do the basics (a gate is good, buy some socket covers, move furniture or lamps that you think might pose a hazard) and wait until your daughter has started to crawl to see what she is attracted to. You’ll save money by waiting and as long as you get the basics covered then she’ll be safe enough for you to have time to get the things you find you really need.

We only use socket covers, a safety gate and a cupboard lock in the kitchen so the children can’t get at the cleaning fluids.

If you have a fire you’ll need a guard, but really we’ve never had any problems. Keep anything breakable or dangerous out of reach, watch out for small objects on the floor. Children will have accidents, they’ll bump their heads whether or not you spend a fortune on corner guards!
