Mom’s with little crib escapees?

Our little 14 month old monkey has been climbing out of her crib at night and sleeping on the floor, no matter how many times I put her back in she gets back out and falls asleep on the floor again! I put up a baby gate for safety so she cannot get out. So do you think I should pt her in a toddler bed? Or let her sleep on the floor or is there any thing I can do to try to make her stay in the crib?

Thanks mommies.

My 14-month-old son is a flight risk, too. He climbs out and wants to play. I woke up one too many times to the sound of his dresser drawers being opened and pillaged, so we just put him in a "big boy" bed. I opted for a full size, so that he can use it for a long time. Right now, I just have the mattress on the floor, and I put pillows around it at night. He woke up on the pillows the first few nights, and has stayed in the bed for the past two. When he gets less squirmy, I’ll put the mattress in the bed frame and use rails.

I was just really careful to make his room hazard-free, so if he does get up and wander around, he won’t get hurt.

I would move her to a toddler bed.My son did the same thing but he started at 11 months, i wasn’t sure if i should switch him so i talked to my doctor. She said when they start getting out of the crib then its time to move them to the toddler bed. So i would make the switch. She seems like she is ready for it. Good luck.

Your title just had me cracking up :) . My son is only 5mo so I’m not at this stage yet…but my nephew used to do the same thing years ago. My sister finally put him in a toddler bed with safety rails on the sides. Unfortunately I do think he was a little older though. I’m not sure what age is appropriate for a toddler bed but I’m pretty sure he was under two years old. He loved his "big boy" bed and stopped trying to "escape". Good Luck!

My daughter just got out of her crib for the first time this morning. She didn’t actually climb out, she leaned over the crib rail and fell forward. There was a sippy cup on the floor, I think that’s what she was going after. She didn’t get hurt. I’m not sure if I plan to put her in a toddler bed or not, simply because she moves all around her crib at night, and I’m afraid she will fall out, I’m also worried that when I put her to sleep at night, she will not want to go to sleep and just climb down and beat at her door. I think I’m going to continue with the crib, and if she happens to fall out again I’ll switch. (I had my husband raise the bar higher and put screws in to hold it up.) I have a 5 year old but I can’t remember when I switched her lol.
Edit: I forgot to mention she is 13 months old.

    Toddler bed time.

Also, be sure to attach dressers to the walls. Every year, 5 or 6 kids die when the dresser falls on them when they climb up the drawers (my bro used to do that, I’m told).

My 14 month old is on a double bed mattress on the floor as he learnt to climb out of his crib. No matter what we did he would get out..

We put a baby gate up at the door, took EVERYTHING out of the room other than his mattress, blanket, pillow, teddy and sippy cup, and put drawers inside the cupboard to stop him pulling them out or down.
