Kidco. Gate Installation Kit For Pet Gates

This kit was developed because the installation of safety gates can be difficult since a “one size fits all” gate design does not exist. All materials and fasteners are included that are necessary to properly install any safety gate to banisters, hollow walls or wrought iron. When using the tube is it safe to use normal barriers when pregnant?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I mean i constantly worry that the barriers will close quickly and squash my baby bump. Are we encouraged to use the wide ones for people with luggage? Also some tube staff when they see me coming they just open the wide gates for me to get through, it convinces me that the normal ones are not safe. I get off the c2c train and get on the tube at tower hill everyday to and from work

thanks

well I don’t think they have xrays in them and if the station staff let you through the wide one ,what are you worrying about.

child stuck with syringe at school….. do you sue?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

2 weeks ago my sister calls me in a panic to inform me of a little boy at her sons school who had been stuck with a syringe in the playground. the boy is in the third grade and they still dont know if any disease has been caught. the kicker is the school is just feet away froma public park and the school had actually put a fence in for safety. what they didnt do is put up the locked gate and instead of the gate there was an open hole. my question is this what would you do if it was your child? do you sue in case of long term medical bills from an impending infection? if so who do you sue the city park for not patroling security better, the school board for there good idea of safety gone bad, the teacher who was not monitoring the childeren or the grounds keeper who should be doing a thourough cleaning of the playground everyday. could it have been prevented if say the school board implemented a metal detector cleaning every morniing

You quit panicking and back off from being sue-happy. First, take the kid to the doctor and have him checked out. Your first thought should be to your child health, not who you can sue.

Second, consult a lawyer, but don’t go in stating off the bat you want to sue everybody. That’s a great way to get taken for a ride by an unscrupulous attorney. Furthermore, there is such a thing as a "reasonable person" standard in law, and I question whether the school hasn’t already met that. How do you know the school doesn’t check the playground in the morning? Why couldn’t the syringe have been left between the morning check & the time of recess? Most importantly, how did the child get stuck with the syringe? An accident while picking it up, or was he playing with it? There isn’t nearly enough information here to be jumping to a lawsuit already.

My baby likes to teethe on cement and metal? Anyone heard of this?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

One of my twins likes to bite the cement block that goes around our fireplace. I bought one of those guards but my twins tore it off in seconds, and then he immediately went to bite it again. I bought one of those expensive safety gates, and he likes to teethe on the metal of that. He also will teeth on the metal pieces of the wooden safety gate. I have bought several teething toys for him, and thought maybe he just likes to teethe on these things because they’re cold but he is disinterested in frozen ones too. He keeps taking the jar lids to bite on them, and constantly teethes on metal things. I have 7 kids and never heard of this! Oh, ped just laughs and says maybe he’ll outgrow it. But I’m just so astonished!
It’s not a mineral deficiency, and his iron levels are perfect. He doesn’t have pica – my babies are brilliant, advanced like my other kids and are definitely not retarded or autistic in any way. He is very active & verbal, and my twins are beginning to sing along to songs & beginning to learn sound the alphabet at 10 mos. It’s not pica or anemia!

As a toddler, I used to chew on cement. Years later, I learnt that I had a condition known as pica, in which mineral deficiencies lead to kids eating chalk, paper, cement etc. It turned out, I was severely anemic, and as soon as I started on iron supplements, I stopped chewing cement. It might be worth getting your kids checked out.
